Chu Wei holds the degree of Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the University of London and a Certificate in Legal Practice from the Qualifying Board, which he obtained in 1999.  He read in Chambers with the Firm and was admitted to the Peninsular Malaysian Bar in August 2000.  In 2002, he obtained a Master’s degree from the University of Malaya, majoring in Advanced Company Law, Marine Insurance, Admiralty Law and Carriage of Goods by Sea.  Chu Wei was made a Senior Associate in September 2004 and became a partner on September 1, 2006.  He practises in the Corporate and Commercial Department and has had his fair share of highly intensive corporate deals such as mergers and acquisitions, bond issues and initial public offerings.  He also acts for multinational clients in corporate and commercial transactions.
