Joyce was called to the English Bar in 1998 after graduating from the University of Leicester, England and after being admitted as a member of the Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn, London, in 1997.  She read Chambers with another large firm in Kuala Lumpur and was called to the Peninsular Malaysian Bar in 1999.  She then commenced legal practice in that firm, where she handled a litigation portfolio and was exposed to a variety of contentious matters concerning banking and securities disputes and insolvency. Making a decision to switch to corporate advisory work, Joyce left to join the Firm in 2001. She was promoted to Senior Associate in September 2004 and became a partner on September 1, 2006. Her main area of practice is Corporate and Commercial and she handles a variety of corporate and commercial matters, ranging from mergers and acquisitions, foreign investments and cross border commercial transactions to financing and fund raising. She also acts for multinational clients in their corporate and commercial transactions within Malaysia.
