| Sai Yeang graduated from the University of Keele, England, in 1989 with a joint Honours degree in Law and Sociology. She is a member of the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple, London and was called to the English Bar as an Utter Barrister. After reading in chambers with Darryl Goon, Sai Yeang was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in June 1991. Sai Yeang initially assisted Darryl in general litigation and gradually developed her own litigation portfolio covering a wide area of civil and commercial litigation with particular emphasis on finance, banking, receivership and insolvency. She was admitted into partnership on January 1, 1997 and manages her own section in the Dispute Resolution Department specialising in the aforesaid areas. Her practice includes advising in respect of Islamic banking products such as Al Bai' Bithaman Ajil, Al Ijarah, Kafalah, Wakalah, Murabahah and Musyarakah facilities. Sai Yeang is a member of the Disciplinary Committee Panel appointed by the Advocates and Solicitors' Disciplinary Board under the Legal Profession Act 1976. |
