Hon Leng obtained his degree of Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the University of Sheffield in 2001 and Certificate of Legal Practice a year later. He joined the Firm as a pupil in chambers in January 2003. He was admitted to the Peninsular Malaysian Bar on November 6, 2003. Thereafter, he commenced practice in the Firm as a legal practitioner in the construction law practice group under the supervision and guidance of Mr. Chang Wei Mun, the partner heading the construction and arbitration practice group of the Firm. He has advised and acted for various players in the construction industry including employers, main contractors, subcontractors and consultants in projects of various sizes and types. His experience in this field includes pre-contract negotiation, contract documentation, project advisory, post-dispute negotiation and formal dispute resolution. Over the years, he has been invited as speaker and presented papers at construction conferences on various topics including loss and expense claim, arbitration, dispute handling, project management and contractual issues. Hon Leng was promoted as a Senior Associate on November 6, 2006 and became a partner of the Firm on July 1, 2009.
